We enjoy movies in our house and our favorite type is comedy. It can be challenging to find a movie that appeals to both RB and I as well as TJ. We put the movie 17 Again to this challenge and it passed with flying colors.

In 17 Again the backstory is created by opening in the year 1989 with the character of Mike O’Donnell (Zac Efron) choosing to marry his pregnant high school girlfriend Scarlett (Allison Miller) rather than pursue a career in basketball. The story quickly moves to present day, where we now find Mike (Matthew Perry) at odds with his two teenage children and fired from his job of many years. He’s staying with his best friend from high school Ned (Thomas Lennon) since he’s been thrown out of his house by Scarlett (Leslie Mann). He finds himself wishing he could go back in time and do things differently. With the mysterious intervention of a janitor (Brian Doyle-Murray) Mike gets his wish and finds himself a teenager once more. He has Ned pose as his father and enroll him in his alma mater. At first Mike thinks he’s gone back to change his life but he comes to realize he’s gone back to help his own children.

We all enjoyed 17 Again. I didn’t know who Zac Efron was before watching it. Afterwards TJ told me he’d been in High School Musical. I think he’s really talented, and really cute too. Despite the fact that the movie starred a teen heartthrob we enjoyed the storyline as well. We found a lot of humor in the movie, mostly in scenes starring Zac Efron and Thomas Lennon.

Take a peek at the movie.
