HeatHoldersThermalSocks2
Ever since the bulk of the weight came off I’m cold. I was told it’s pretty common for people that have lost this much weight. In essence I’ve lost my insulation. The problem is, I can’t stand to be cold. I find that if I can manage to warm both my feet and my neck it helps to make me feel a bit warmer. Most days I can be found with a hoodie or sweater on, and often my microfleece robe or a sweater on top of that. On my feet in the winter I’m usually wearing thick, fuzzy socks and soft warm slippers. Even with socks and slippers, there are many times when my feet are cold. There have even been times that I wore two pair of socks, just to keep from chattering.
When I was contacted and offered the opportunity to review Heat Holders Thermal Socks, I had to say yes. I eagerly awaited their arrival, which happened a few days ago. Now in the past I’ve tried some thermal socks. Most of them were mens socks, since I have really big feet. I had always found them to be sort of scratchy.  I was actually half expecting the Heat Holders socks to be more of the same.
The Heat Holders socks that I received are the Original style, which fits Mens US sizes 7-12 and Womens US sizes 8-13. They also make a few other styles of socks, and some tights and slippers. The socks are a good length for me, they’re a bit taller then the crew style fuzzy socks I usually wear. My legs have always been sort of thick and sturdy, even as a child when I was fit. I love that the Heat Holders haven’t fallen down once, and yet they don’t feel tight and constricting. The socks are non-binding and are actually considered to be diabetic friendly. I was very pleased to find that Heat Holders are much softer then I expected them to be. The original socks are made of 91% acrylic, 5% nylon, 3% polyester and 1% elastane. The specially developed fibers in the socks make up a long looped cushion pile, which is then brushed to hold the warm air and maximize that. Heat Holders are rated to be more than seven times as warm as your basic cotton sock. After wearing them I can’t say that I disagree. My feat haven’t been cold at all while wearing these socks. Not inside. Not even outside, like the other day where is was 25, every part of me was cold when I took the garbage out except for my feet. If you or someone you know has poor circulation or whose feet are always cold, these socks are worth checking out. I really like these socks and they really do keep my feet really warm, which is why I’m declaring them a 2013 holiday hit. The only thing I’d like to see with these socks is a wider choice of “girlie” colors for the larger sizes. There’s a good selection of colors for the regular Originals, which are available in black, charcoal, indigo, deep fuschia, pink, purple and raspberry. The larger size are available in black, charcoal, denim, forest green, red, br0wn, navy, stonewash.
