It’s that time of year again that every parent dreads – cough and cold season. Millions of kids and adults across the country are likely to feel a sore throat, runny nose, congestion and other signs of the common cold in the coming weeks and months. In fact, it’s estimated that children in preschool and elementary school can have six to 12 colds per year and these result in more than 22 million days of school absences recorded annually.
My youngest got sick earlier this week and is on antibiotics. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or a sign of things to come, but I’ve had a sore throat myself for the past day and a half. Time to break out the lozenges, of which there are only a few that I like – one being Sucrets.
ABOUT SUCRETS
Whether you or your child has a sore throat or runny nose due to the common cold or seasonal allergies, Sucrets brand throat lozenges that have been known to provide immediate, long-lasting relief of serious sore throat pain for over 75 years.
MY THOUGHTS
I received samples of three varieties of Sucrets.
- Classic Wild Cherry, the throat lozenge that has been providing relief of sore throats and mouths for more than 75 years.
Complete Vapor Cherry with dyclonine, Vitamin C and Zinc provides maximum relief of sore throats while suppressing annoying coughs and cooling irritated nasal passages.
Herbal Berry Pomegranate, loaded with Vitamin C and green tea, calms your cough and provides soothing relief of dry, scratchy throats.
Having no symptoms other than a sore throat at the moment I decided to start with the Classic Wild Cherry lozenges. I love that Sucrets come inside a tin, it keeps all of the lozenges in one place in my purse as well as from falling all over the shelf in the cabinet. The flavor is good and the lozenges really do ease a sore throat. I have tried the Complete Vapor Cherry previously. If my nose gets stuffy I’ll switch to that one because they really do help open your nasal passages. I have no cough but wanted to try the Herbal Berry Pomegranate just to see what it tasted like. It was a different taste, a little less sweet in my opinion.
