Almost two years ago I got a DSLR camera. At the same time I got what I thought would be a “good” camera bag. There are certain good things about it, but there are certain things about it that I really dislike. The biggest thing that I dislike about it is that the bag is quite heavy and bulky. It’s definitely awkward to take with you on something like a long walk or to an amusement park. Lowepro recently came out with a new camera bag designed exactly for situations like this, it’s the Photo Sport Shoulder camera bag.
The Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder camera bag is perfect for not only outdoor activities, but also travel as well. The bag itself is very light, weighing in at 0.9 lbs when empty. The bag is generously sized, measuring 13.4w x 5.1D x 9.3H. Inside the bag there are some mesh pockets, and a removable / repositionable padded camera box. Along with your camera there’s plenty of room for camera accessories such as lenses, cables, memory cards, batteries, charger, etc. I preferred to use some of that extra room for my personal items, including wallet, cell phone and keys, making it one roomy but light purse. You could even fit a tablet in there if you like. The shoulder strap is adjustable, allowing the wearer to have the bag sit at a length where it’s most comfortable for them. The bag is made of a weather-resistant fabric, so even if you are exposed to Mother Nature your gear has some protection from the elements. The bag got a little dirty while I was out but I found that it wiped clean easily with a damp cloth. Because the bag is soft, when not in use it can be flattened or folded for easy storage.
This bag is suitable for both men and women, and would make a great gift for anyone looking for a camera bag suitable for travel, sporting events and the like. Pricing for the Lowepro Photo Sport Shoulder camera bag is $74.99 for the 12L model I received, and $84.99 for the larger 18L model that can accommodate a camera with a larger lens.
