NJ Lottery Holiday Games
The holidays are approaching rapidly. Chances are good that you will find yourself in need of something fun and affordable, possibly for a stocking stuffer or party favor. It could be for one person, or even for a group. Instant lottery tickets are always a sound option. By themselves they are a great gift, stocking stuffer or party favor. And, there are fun ways to package lottery tickets up. For example, you can make a DIY Advent Calendar. This is a super simple and affordable project that can be lots of fun. This project is perfect for groups, including families, coworkers and organizations.

To complete this project you will need:

  • 1 large piece of poster board (I used an 18×24 piece that cost $2.29.)
  • Enough cardstock to make pockets for a specific number of days that you determine. (I got a book of 36 6×6 cards for $2.49.)
  • Stickers for the dates (One package from 1-25 with a couple of words cost $1.00.)
  • New Jersey Lottery Holiday tickets to fill the pockets

To make the calendar, place the poster board on a table. I wanted to create a pocket for each day. Before you start cutting, you will need to know the size of your pockets. I used different NJ Lottery Holiday Instant Games. To keep the pockets evenly sized, I cut the cardstock to fit the width of the largest of the tickets that I was using.

I cut the cardstock pieces in half. I then placed seven pieces in one row from left to right. I repeated this until I had five rows. These pockets represented the days in December.

Once the pockets were where I wanted to place them, I stapled them onto the poster board. I stapled once on the bottom in the middle, and once on each side. These three staples ensure that the lottery ticket wouldn’t fall out.

Once your pockets are all in place, place the date stickers onto each date.
All that’s left to do is for people to put their lottery scratch-off tickets into the pockets.

  1. I love this idea and my parents are big lotto players, so a gift like this would go over quite well. Although we do not have lottery in my state, we are traveling somewhere that does soon and I could easily pick up scratchers!

  2. What a fun idea. Love to find new uses for things. I have a lucky daughter maybe I should do this for her, would be a fun idea for a college kid away from home.

  3. Ha, now that’s my kind of advent calendar!! We always put the scratch off tickets in Christmas stockings. This would be more fun. 🙂
