Did you ever wake up in the morning and find yourself feeling like you have who knows what growing in your mouth? We all have. So what do we do? We brush our teeth. Our breath feels fresher and our teeth don’t feel fuzzy and life is better. Unfortunately, brushing your teeth doesn’t take care of the whole problem. When you’ve brushed your teeth I am sure that you’ve also looked at your tongue. And I am sure that at times you may have felt like your tongue looked or felt a bit furry. That is exactly why I started brushing my tongue years ago, I didn’t feel “fresh” if I didn’t.
That gross feeling makes sense, considering that approximately 90% of the bacteria that cause bad breath live on the tongue and not on the teeth or gums. I learned this from the folks at TUNG, from whom I also learned that the majority of this bacteria and the debris it feeds upon are found in biofilms located primarily on the back of the tongue. Knowing this you might think, as I did, that brushing your teeth is the answer to the problem. It isn’t.
Brushing your teeth is not sufficient to remove those colonies of bacteria. That’s partially because when you brush your teeth you could be getting more bacteria on your toothbrush then if you hadn’t used your toothbrush at all. A toothbrush doesn’t remove most of the bacteria; it’s bristles are too long, causing it to redistribute much of that it does touch. A tongue scraper doesn’t remove all of the bateria, because it cannot get into the crevices of the tongue. Why is this important? All of that bacteria in the mouth does more ten cause bad breath. It also contributes to gum disease. And that isn’t all. The latest studies show that bacteria on the tongue can lead to gum disease and gum disease can lead to heart disease, diabetes and more. So, if brushing your teeth and using mouthwash aren’t sufficient to remove the colonies of bacteria, what should you use? TUNG.

I have been using TUNG for a couple of weeks now. It’s super simple to use, and only adds an extra minute to your brushing routine. To use TUNG, you put a little TUNG Gel onto the TUNG brush and then brush your tongue from back to front for about 10 seconds. You determine how much pressure you want to use, so you can brush with TUNG as lightly or as firmly as you like. I notice the difference it makes each and every time I brush. I can actually see just some of what TUNG has removed from my tongue when I spit after brushing. And, my tongue both looks and feels better than it did before.
The best way to clean your tongue is by using  a TUNG Brush & TUNG Gel. It’s become a part of my daily routine. Knowing I am helping to reduce the amount of bacteria in my mouth that causes bad breath and gum disease is a good thing, and seeing it work makes me feel good. By making it a part of my daily routine and using it when I brush my teeth I never forget. To ensure TUNG’s effectiveness, simply replace your TUNG brush every three months when you replace your toothbrush.
