Dobby is a happy, albeit occasionally goofy, puppy. He may be most content when he is snuggling on the couch or in our bed, but he is at his happiest when he is playing. His favorite thing to do is play outside in the yard with one or all of us.
When he is running around our yard I can easily envision him running and playing with other dogs. And I do believe that Dobby would wholeheartedly enjoy having a dog park nearby. Our community literally just cut the ribbon on a remodeled park that included our town’s first ever dog park. I have passed by a couple of times and it’s great to see so many dogs out there running around and playing.
If you don’t already know, dog parks are special. They benefit both pets and people. Beneful found that nearly 80% of dog owners agree that their local dog park provides a place for them to exercise and be healthy with their dogs. And, 66% of dog owners also enjoy their local dog park, citing some of the most enjoyable aspects of visiting as being surrounded by other dogs and likeminded dog lovers (23%) and meeting new people (21%).
Sadly, not all dogs have access to a dog park. As all children deserve a safe place to play with others, dogs deserve something too. Beneful believes that dog parks provide a special place for dogs and owners to bond and socialize with each other and the community. With that in mind, five years ago they started working to help to build and/or improve dog parks across the country through the Beneful Dream Dog Park Project.
The Dream Dog Park Project started out as a contest, with the Beneful team visiting one winning community each year to provide a Dream Dog Park renovation. The program has grown substantially over the years. This year’s goal is to support a total of 12 parks through donation, service days, etc., as well as through a new partnership with GoFundMe.
Each month, Beneful will select a new GoFundMe dog park campaign to spotlight on the Dream Dog Park Project and on Beneful’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Beneful will provide dollar-for-dollar donation matching support, helping the projects reach their goals. Your community could be next! If you have a dog park in your community that needs support, make a campaign for it on GoFundMe and Beneful might spotlight it and help match funds raised! Beneful is currently spotlighting the first Dream Dog Park of the year, Frenchtown Dog Park in St. Louis.
And there’s more! Beneful is also supporting dog parks through crowdfunding on social. For every post tagging @Beneful with the #DreamDogPark hashtag Beneful will donate $1 (up to $50,000) towards the Beneful Dream Dog Park Projects this year. This is a fun, simple and free way to get involved and make a difference in your own community!

Dog parks are wonderful places for both pooches and their owners. It’s a great way to socialize for both!
Our dog was always so happy to go to the dog park. The second we got in the car he would basically just sit in the back painting as fast as he could he seemed kind of waiting till we got there. The second we got out the door he was gone running around like crazy I love watching it.
Dog parks are a great place for dogs and owners to socialize. So many communities either don’t have one or it’s not that great. It’s great that Beneful is helping out communities this way.
I don’t have a dog myself but whenever I go to the dog park with my friend and her dog, he’s absolutely ecstatic! I love seeing the dogs interact with one another, it can get quite amusing sometimes!
I totally agree… we have a dog park but it is a bit of a drive. It would be so nice to have one closer, as I know it is beneficial to dogs to get that exercise and to be around other dogs
We are very lucky with a dog park right in our neighborhood. We take our grand dogs there and they love it. They spend the first half of our visit sniffing out all the previous doggy visitors though. Ha!

I think dark parks are a great idea. I don’t have a dog, but I would love to get one sometime. They’re making a dog park in our city soon too, so it’s exciting!
