I remember when the television series The Good Wife first came on. I tuned in because it starred Julianna Margolies, who I’d loved on ER. Long story short, the main character Alicia Florrick (Margolies) is forced to take control of her own life after her husband is involved in a public sex and political corruption scandal. She is forced to return to the work force, and joins the law firm of Lockhart Gardner, in order to be able to provide for her family and children.
Fast forward four years to present day and Alicia is now a partner in the firm, despite her attraction for her boss Will Gardner. She is trying to repair damages with her husband, who has won the gubernatorial election. The two have agreed to renew their vows and try to make their relationship work. With that in mind, she decides to leave Lockhart Gardner. She, along with coworker Cary Agos, are going to start a new firm. By removing herself from the temptation Alicia feels that she will be able to focus on her priorities including her marriage, her children and her new position as First Lady.
A few weeks ago “The Good Wife” began its fifth season on the CBS Television Network. It airs on Sundays from 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT. In the October 27th episode, Lockhart Gardner discovers that Alicia and Cary are leaving and the sh*t hits the fan. The new firm and the old are now battling over clients and it will not be pretty. Everyone is going to have to pick a side.
