I just got an email from a gentleman who I created a website for. He owns a yoga and holistic fitness studio in South Jersey. His email said he went to his site for the first time in a while and the site I’d created was missing and the original plain old text version was up instead. Now I don’t host his site, so unfortunately I’m not able to tell him what happened. I did upload the site I made for him again, and suggested he ask his host about it. If his host had had to restore from a backup around the time his new site went up and their backup had the old site it would make sense. But I know that the site I made for him was up over a month after I uploaded it so I can’t imagine what happened. I host a number of sites and make sure they’re running properly every day and backed up as well. I reminded him again that I would be glad to host the site, for less than he’s paying now. Have any of you ever had a site disappear and get replaced with an older version of it?
