Hi! My name is Carrie. I’m 40 years old and have been married for 18 years. My stepdaughter and her husband just blessed us with our first grandson, who I am head over heals in love with. I went to school to be a teacher, but currently work in accounts payable for a private company. I live in Ohio, but my heart belongs to the Smoky Mountains and hope to move there eventually. I have four dogs that I talk about too much, one of which is on her way to becoming a certified therapy dog.

I’m 41 now and I’ve been coloring my hair, one shade or another since I was 15. Recently though, we moved and our new house has well water. For those of you that don’t know, well water is rough on colored hair. Ours is so full of iron and minerals that in a short period my blond highlights turned Ronald McDonald orange. NOT the look I was shooting for. My hair dresser had to demineralize my hair and color it brown. Eventually, I got a filter and talked her into putting the highlights back. They were holding up but still not how I’d like them to be.

About this time, I had the chance to try Color Proof SignatureBlonde shampoo and conditioner. This line is designed to illuminate, brighten and replenish blonde, bleached or silver color-treated hair. The violet pigments cancel the brassy and yellow tones that can develop in blonde hair.
Thick and rich (and very violet!) the shampoo goes a long way! Just a dollop will lather up your whole head. The conditioner is thicker, almost like a paste or mask and you may need a bit more or want to thin it with water so that you can spread it throughout your whole head of hair. I’ve been using these two items for several weeks and it was just what my highlights needed to kick them back to the pretty blonde I paid for!

Summer is around the corner and that means crazy frizzy hair days for me. I can avoid that by using the RadicallySmooth Anti-Frizz Serum. Designed to smooth, defrizz and add shine while calming and controlling your locks and locking out humidity. This does wonders if I plan to straighten my hair and it cuts my drying time down. On days that I wear it curly, I just run a small dollop through my hair to keep it tame.

Some days nothing works to get your hair to do what you want it to….until now. Holy Smokes! The PowerSculpt Hard Hold Gel is one tough cookie. Eco friendly liquid bamboo provides a stretchable, long lasting hold. This would be perfect for piecing or spot styling shorter hair. Personally, I like to use it on days where I want defined curls. The gel grabs them and gives me defined curls but they don’t get hard, or “crunchy” like other gels I have tried.
You can purchase or learn more about these and other items on the ColorProof website (free shipping over $100) or you can use their handy Salon Finder to find a local retailer. You can keep up with ColorProof on social media, on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

  1. Good products to keep your colored hair, well, colored! I know from getting my wife and daughter’s hair colored in the past that it isn’t cheap!

  2. I use a lot of top color (color that is gentle on hair but washes out quick) and I wonder if this range could really be of use to me. I have such a hard time keeping my vibrant hues vibrant!
