Girls Night Out NYIAS

This past Thursday I went on a very special girls night out. I had a fun night out with a group of other women and a few men including my Dad. My Dad is the person responsible for my love for cars. He took me to my first race, and almost all of the races that followed in the future. He taught me how to drive. When I was given the opportunity to bring a guest to the New York International Auto Show he was the person I immediately thought of bringing with me.

Now my Dad has gone with me to either shop or test most of the vehicles I have purchased. If you’ve ever gone car shopping, you know it can be quite the job moving from lot to lot trying to be sure of the make and model you want. And that’s before you start test driving, and possibly making a second round as you narrow down your choices. The New York International Auto Show is THE place to go if you’re contemplating a car purchase. It’s also where you want to be if you’re a car enthusiast.

What is the New York International Auto Show?

The New York International Auto Show (or NYIAS for short) is one giant gathering of all of today’s automakers. Sprawling throughout the entire Javitz Center in Manhattan you will find each of the auto makers newest and current model vehicles. This is where you want to go if you’re thinking about buying a car in the next year. While at NYIAS you have the opportunity to check all of the models in one place. This is such a convenience and time saver, as you don’t have to go from place to place. And, it’s not stressful because there are no salespeople following you around urging you to buy right now before time runs out! (Just a bit of sarcasm, I think we’ve all run into at least one of THOSE salespeople.) You can check out all of the cars you like in your own time and at your own pace. Should you have a question arise, you can find someone at the exhibit to answer your question. The whole experience makes for a nice day out, for yourself, with a friend or loved one, or even for the whole family.

The exhibits are great because you can get up close and personal. Take the Genesis exhibit, for example.

For those of you unfamiliar with Genesis, they are only the second luxury brand to launch in the 21st century. A visit to their booth yields you an up close and personal look at their latest vehicle, the Genesis G90.

The Genesis 90 is a sleek and elegant looking vehicle is a tribute to the brand’s “athletic elegance” design identity. The luxurious vehicle offers those same high-end performance, comfort and technology features that folks covet in other high-end luxury brands, but often at a lower price.

And that’s not all we found at the Genesis exhibit. Along with the delicious chocolates, we found the Genesis concept suv.

This vehicle really is breathtaking. This concept suv is the sleekest suv that I have ever seen. The vehicle is almost completely smooth, with door handles and even the lights being recessed into the body.  And we really loved the way Genesis incorporated the frame right into the design, a nod to their desire for transparency with the consumer.

The Genesis vehicles are clearly designed to make you feel special. You know what else would make you feel special? A new designer handbag! Am I right?

  1. Holy. Moly. How could a company that makes such sleek, gorgeous vehicles never have been on my radar? I’ve never even seen them at my dealership. I have to find them!

  2. Wow. That is going to really be “driving on the lap of luxury!” I love the Genesis G90’s sleek design with the rugged muscle car look! I’ve never been to the New York International Auto Show. It must have been a thrill to see all those beautiful vehicles plus a chance to win a designer hand bag! Wow!

  3. How cool! You were a few blocks away from me. I didn’t realize you were a New Yorker. Small world! Anyway, I love the New York International Auto Show. It’s a sight to see, even for people like me who identify cars by the color and number of doors. 🙂

  4. I’m seeing that wood look more and more in cars. The Genesis is a sleek looking ride, that’s for sure. I’m loving what I see!

  5. the Genesis exhibit was really outstanding and I am not a car person. I would love any of those cars. It is so nice you share this interest with your father and do it together.

  6. That car looks sexy! I haven’t heard of it before, but I would not mind a test drive. I am always interested in looking at new cars and trying them out. This one looks like a keeper.

  7. Now that’s a glorious way to spend the day! I’d love to get behind the wheel! Auto shows are always so much fun.
