I just had the chance to read Sky Pony Press’ newest middle grade novels, and boy, are they great! I don’t think you have to be in middle school to enjoy a book written for those grades. I always love reading from the middle school and young adult sections in the library. When I had the chance to review these 2 books, I was pretty excited! I will donate them to my local library, now that I am finished reading them.

The main character in this book, Laney, has been having what she calls, “future flashes” for as long as she can remember. When she touches someone, she gets a glimpse of a future event in their life. A new boy moves to her town and is in her class. When Laney touches Lyle, she gets the worst future flash she’s ever had! Now she has to figure out if there is a way to change the future and save Lyle’s life!
This story was exciting, engaging and heart warming! I love Laney and I really loved the storyline! I was taken in within the first few pages and I found myself staying up late just to see what was going to happen! I would recommend this to any middle school child. The author writes so well, you feel like you are part of the story!

We liked to read books like this out loud to our kids, even as they became old enough to do their own reading. Reading together was always something we looked forward to. This would make a great gift for boys or girls who like excitement! I may not be a kid anymore, but reading this book made me feel like I was a kid again!
