I worked out of the home for many years, over thirty if you’re counting. I have had a number of different bosses over the years. Some of them were very challenging to work with because they micromanaged everything on a day to day basis. I work well on my own and I work well on a team. I don’t work especially well when I’m micromanaged. There’s an article on the Quill bog, Cafe Quill, today on how to make being micromanaged work to your advantage. It makes some great points and helps put things in a slightly different perspective. It’s worth a read and has some great tips. My husband’s supervisor is a major micromanager. I need to send this to him.
I hate being micromanaged. I usually ended up having a conversation with my manager on how we could put a stop to it.
I hate being micromanaged. I can do fine all by myself, I just don’t like anyone breathing down my back.
HAHA! I went to a class when I was in the Army, about something like this! Micromanaging says a lot about the person doing it, and the way it’s handled tells a lot about the person being micromanaged!
I have been micro managed before and I don’t do well with it. I kind of tell them my mind (in a respectful way but still). I love working for myself, I do much better with that.
I have been micromanaged and believe me I don’t like it. I will be checking out how to turn it into an advantage!
I am not into being micromanaged. If I am doing my job, I will make sure it is done and done correctly the first time.
In my old job I felt micromanaged sometimes. It feels better to micromanage myself. 😉
Luckily I have never been micromanaged before. I would hate to have to go through that too. I can’t stand someone being right there in your face or telling you exactly what to do.
OMG! This is amazing. I have worked for so many micromanagers. It has always been extremely difficult for me to handle!
Being micromanaged is not fun at all! That’s why I love working from home!
I hate being micromanaged. This is why i love working from home!
Micromanaging is planning and scheduling…it is a time management reminder.
I’m probably the one doing the micromanaging. Ouch, I’m such a jerk. lol
Me and micromanaging people do not get along! Honestly, people need to loosen the reigns and let people perform their jobs without hovering and doing most of the work.
I am lucky to work from home so i am not Micromanaged. I would hate to be in that situation.
I’m a micromanager myself, both when I was supervising a corporate communications team years ago and today as an entrepreneur when managing my own time. From that perspective I try not to push too much, just enough to motivate my staff and myself to excellence, to be the best that we can be.
