Poki Free Child Friendly Online Gaming Site
Have you heard of Poki? I’ve partnered up with them and would like to introduce you to them and what they do. If you aren’t familiar with Poki.com, they are a site offering a giant collection of free-to-play online games. When I say the collection is giant, I do mean it’s giant. The games on this child-friendly site fall into numerous categories including racing, sports, action, girl, movie, adventure, board, thinking, skill, and mmo. Then, the categories have sub-categories!
There are general sub-categories such as car games, dress-up games, soccer games, math games, cooking games, typing games, and shooting games. There are also specific sub-categories such as Frozen games, Barbie games, Cartoon Network games, Mario games, Lego games, Minecraft games, Disney games, Disney Channel games, and Pokemon games.

That’s a lot of games! And because the site is supported by ads,  the games are all free to play!  Not only are the games free, they don’t require any sort of login. I love that! You just go to the site and play.

You can begin your experience by playing the featured game, choosing a category, or using the search box to look for a specific game. The vast selection has games that are really quick and take only a couple of minutes to games that take a period of time, and everything in between. There’s a game to suit everyone on Poki.
I took a look around the site. The number of games is quite impressive. I saw a lot of games in there that I was familiar with, and just as many (actually more) that I wasn’t.

I saw a Sofia game, knowing how popular she is with children right now I decided to check that out.

Underneath each game you’ll find a description of the game, along with a few suggestions for other games you might like.

This Sofia game had a video walkthrough of how to play, which I think is very helpful.

Players get to give Princess Sofia a manicure, doing everything from putting lotion on to applying nail polish to decorating the nails. It was cute and I can definitely see it as a game that lots of children would enjoy. Similar things that might appeal to those same players include dressup games and cooking games.

Sudoku has been one of my favorite types of games for years. I found a whole Sudoku category underneath Puzzles. There I not only found traditional games, I found other variations I hadn’t seen, such as Flower Sudoku.

I like that you can choose the grid size, some don’t let you do that.

I did notice in some of the games that I wanted to play, including Flower Sudoku, that the instructions were in a foreign language.

I was able to remember a tiny fraction of the German I took in high school decades ago, just enough for me to know my pieces were in the right place so far and that I had 23 pieces left to place. I can see where this could be frustrating to someone that only speaks one language.  If a young child were playing I’d say they should be in the same room as an adult, as they’re going to need someone to help them figure things out. Ideally I believe the site would be a smoother user experience if instructions for some other “major” languages were included in the section containing information about the game.
I think Poki is a great resource to bookmark. It’s a site where that’s easy to navigate, contains a huge variety of all sorts of games, and requires no login.

  1. My son would love this site. He loves to play video games online, but I’m very careful about the sites he goes to. This one looks like a safe one.

  2. This is so amazing. I am always worried letting my kids go crazy online but it is great to know there is a place they can play games that I don’t have to worry about.

  3. I admit it. I use games to keep my kids occupied while I try to get work done. With that said, I don’t get anything done if I’m being interrupted to log them in or show them how to use it. This sounds like a fun & easy way for them to play while I sneak in a few more minutes of work.

  4. I haven’t heard of Poki, so thank you for sharing this! My 4 1/2 year old is starting to get into computer games. I love that it’s free and doesn’t require a login.

  5. Fun list! I associate Sudoku with mad math attempting not to lose one’s memory thanks to my elder relatives! This version has much more visual appeal.
