Sophie's Animal Parade
I always enjoy a good children’s book to read to my granddaughter. Reading is very important to me. With all three of my kids, I read to each of them before bed almost every night when they were younger. Bedtime took a bit because I was reading three different books, but I always enjoyed that time with each of them.
Sophie is a little girl that has a talent with drawing. Anything she draws comes to life. Whether it be a tasty treat, a blanket or even an animal. Yes, you heard me right, animals. Sophie has a big imagination and most children would think it was so cool to have her ‘talents’. Author Amy Dixon brings this book to life with her wonderful writing, as well as Katia Wish’s cute illustrations.

You will see that the illustrations in “Sophie’s Animal Parade” are wonderfully drawn. Enough detail to make things look real to a child, and cute enough to keep an adult’s attention. While I was reading the book I shared with my daughter the premise and her exact word’s were, “that sounds just like Harold and the Purple Crayon.” Imagine my smile while reading the information that their idea stemmed from the very book my daughter mentioned.
About the author:
Amy Dixon is one of seven siblings. Imagine that the only peace she got laid within the covers of a book. After having her own kids, she remembered her love of books while being at the library with them. It was the only place her four children were happy and quiet. Amy is able to work from home with her 4 small children and marathon running husband, Clovis. Amy is also the writer of Marathon Mouse.
