Fall is here. Right behind fall is the holiday season. After that it’s January, a new year. You know what that means. Promises to be more organized. And taxes, which are so much easier to do when you are somewhat organized. You ever hear that saying “why put off to tomorrow what you can do today”? Well, that applies to getting organized too. I’m not a believer in resolutions for the new year, they’re a setup to fail. If you want to make a change just jump in and do it.
So you’d like to be more organized. One of the most helpful things you can do is get your papers in order. Over the years I’ve tried different things, most of which didn’t work. File cabinets. Baskets. Bins. Drawers. Containers. They all might help you organize in some way but they all take up space. Electronic is the way to go. So, many companies and utilities made their bills and statements electronic. but since each company has their own site and system, the documents still aren’t organized. You have to login to each one and find what you’re looking for. Sometimes you can find everything you need quickly, sometimes not so much. FileThis can help change that.
FileThis is a digital file storage and organization system that fetches and organizes your personal documents for you. Bills, statements, receipts, insurance papers, all sorts of important documents. You can access your stored files from your computer or favorite iOS mobile device (Android to come). And, with the mobile app you can use photo functionality to even store things like restaurant receipts while you’re on the go.

FileThis can currently pull data from over 300 companies including utility companies, online retailers, financial institutions, insurance companies. More are in the process of being added.

Your documents are available to you whenever you want them. FileThis does this using an encrypted and secured platform where the data remains yours.

You can then store your documents in a location of your choice, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box or Evernote. You can even download them to your computer if you like.

Users dictate which Cloud drive they want the documents delivered to. Once documents are uploaded, FileThis turns them into PDFs, gives them a name you can understand and smart-tags them. This helps make them easy to search. If you use the FileThis Cloud you can also search by keyword, tag and date.

FileThis is free to use for up to 6 connections. There are other pricing plans available if you need more connections.

There’s also a version for businesspeople called FileThis Pro. The Pro version helps your clients get organized and helps you keep their paperwork organized. Basically, you create a FileThis Pro account. Then, you have your clients create an account. Your clients will log in and connect their accounts. FileThis will fetch their files and share them with you. There is a There is a monthly fee for FileThis Pro.

FileThis offers consumers and professionals an easy way to start decreasing the amount of paper they deal with and increasing their level of organization and accessibility to data.

I keep all my documents in a box. I am old school and prefer paper.
This looks like a great way to keep documents organized. Much better than my normal system!
Right now we have folder, paper, files and cabinets – all over. this would be so much neater and easier to keep track of!
I’ve always been a bit leery of safety with setups like this, but I am beginning to just plain need the service. I will have to look more into it!
This is so much better than having papers laying all over the place. Going electronic is so much more convenient!
Ugh, I don’t even want to think about tax time. It’s my least favorite yearly chore. I hate having to go through all of the paperwork but this looks like it would save a lot of time.
Hmm, interesting. Might be nice having it all in one place. Will have to see if they support the companies I utilize.
The more and more that things go paperless, services like this are going to come in handy. Thanks for the information.
If they have all of the companies i need to track info for; this would be such a lifesaver. My office space would definitely be grateful fro the clean out!
This is amazeballs! I currently have a huge stack of papers in my “filing”…
This is great. I hate having to go through all my files every time I need to find something important. This is an awesome way to keep track of everything.
This is just about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. This makes my tablet a digital filing cabinet. Awesome!
I so need this – I am so disorganized! What a great way to stay organized electronically!
Having your information someplace where it could be backed up is such a great thing. I have seen too many lose to much from not backing up. You definitely can not beat their prices.
I don’t have a great system right now, to be honest! I think FileThis sounds like a great – and secure – way to digitally store files. I’ll be checking into this more, for sure!
I am the worst at filing. This looks awesome and so easy!
I hand them to hubby; the rest go in the circular file.
I keep my documents in a lock box that is fireproof..well almost all of them. I guess I am also old fashion too!
It is a great idea to have a service like this. Having documents in more then one place is a great idea!
I really need to look into digital documenting. All the offices are switching, why can’t i ? lol Maybe i just love tangible.
This looks like a great way to store your documents. I will have to check it out. I could definitely use more organization in my life.
