Do you remember when you were growing up, wondering if things you did were as good as the other kids? It could have been anything – sports, crafts, a school subject? I think it’s a safe bet that most children have felt that way at one point or another. In “It’s Your Birthday, Barney” we see Riff going through that. He sings a sad little song that really tugs at the heartstrings, one that will surely hit home with anyone who’s ever wondered it. Riff learns that it isn’t the actual gift that counts as much as the thought behind it. It’s a great positive lesson that everyone, children and adult, should learn early and remember.
