Do you ever look around your house and think “blah”? I do, particularly when it comes to the bedroom. No, not that way! I mean the bedding. Boring plain bedding = “blah”. I’m a bit tired of “blah” bedding, we’ve had it for basically our entire married life. In all of the years we’ve been married, we’ve had a beige comforter, a blue comforter, and a black comforter. I see some prints out there but don’t like them. I knew if I looked long enough I’d find something that would brighten up the room that I’d actually like, and I did. I found it at Kohl’s.
“If I were to recommend one update to a room this fall, it would be to add color,” said Ralph Snyder, vice president of home design for Kohl’s. “Blues and greens are especially trend-right this season and easy to incorporate to your interior with a colorful bed set. For those looking for something a little less overwhelming – mix neutrals like grey with a pop of bright yellow.”
Mr Snyder was spot on. A new bed set with big blocks of color was a big improvement at my house.
The Kohl’s Home Classics Paige Bedding Set is a 7-piece set that includes:
- 1 comforter
- 1 bedskirt
- 2 pillow shams
- 3 decorative pillows (neck roll, oblong, and square)
The room looks really nice, the blue and gray colors on the bedding are very pretty and they really do stand out because of the big blocks that they’re in. The whole set is well put together, no loose or hanging threads, no thin or flimsy material. Every comforter I’ve ever had prior to this was machine washable. Every comforter I’ve had before this also faded very quickly and looked kind of blah. It is recommended that this bedding, bed skirt and shams – all polyester – are dry cleaned. I’m guessing that the material and it’s cleaning instructions are part of why the colors are so bright. I love the way the big blocks of color are in different sizes and the pillows are all different patterns, the set really comes together well and makes the room look sharp.
I apologize the picture isn’t that great. The colors are definitely blue and gray, as opposed gray and copper that it appears to be in my photos. The lighting in the bedroom is awful, and the material is shiny. Sadly, our bedroom is so small I couldn’t get the whole bedding set to show in the picture, but I tried to get as much in as I could. In the interest of doing the bedding the justice it deserves, I’m sharing Kohl’s photo of the set with you. The set actually does look more like this then my picture leads on.
I am completely in love with the set and the colorful new look my bedroom has. I’m currently saving up to get some new curtains and a couple of throw rugs to match. If you’re looking to redo a room or spruce it up, consider adding something like this.

I am repainting my bedroom and it would be great to put some more color in there with a new comforter set. I think the ones shown are really nice and Kohl’s usually has good quality items.
Most of the rooms in our house need a color pop. when we moved in 12 years ago I painted a little at a time, took me a few years and always thought I had to use neutral colors (blah) because of small areas and then would buy items like towels, throws, bedding or pans, pictures, etc, to get some color in the rooms. Thing is, we just never do buy it. I did paint one deep purple wall in our bedroom and found some curtains to match…so we have ONE room with some color. we are hoping to continue to close in a screen porch we never use which is right off the kitchen. We desperately need to redo our kitchen and when done, I’d like to pop some red into both of those rooms. Bathrooms, just like to keep neutral for resale some day but just pop some soothing but beachy color towels in there. Someday…
