I live in a suburban area, what some might even call a bedroom community. My home is equidistant from new York and Philly. My neighborhood is nice, it has lots of families, lots of kids. There are a few people that drive down my street like they’re driving to save their life. They go way to fast and it isn’t safe. Lots of us parents get angry, and we’ll step out towards the road and wave for them to slow down. Two times in a month this summer there was a car vs. pedestrian incident. Some of the side streets have taken to getting these stand up figures to put in the street. Problem is they really aren’t big enough to slow someone down. What I think we actually need is some of these industrial strength driveway posts. They’re really strong and they’re removable. You may have even seen these used on roadwork near you. The pole is heavy duty and bright yellow. The mount is flush to the ground when a post is not in it, so when it was up it would be saving our childrens’ lives. When it wasn’t up the cars could proceed on their way. I wonder if we could get away with putting these up without getting the township involved. Hmmm…….
