SYNOPSIS

A holiday sourpuss brings Santa to the rescue of a small town?s Christmas. For some unexplained reason, letters to Santa Claus are being returned to the children of Junctionville. It seems some resident has angered St. Nick, calling Christmas a fraudulent myth! Skeptical Albert Mouse has to be brought to his senses and let up a little on the wonder why. How Albert is persuaded to change his tune paves the way for Santa?s jolly return to town and the joyous finale of the animated fable inspired by Clement Moore’s poem and produced by the merrymaking conjurers of Rankin/Bass Studios. The voice talents of Joel Grey, Tammy Grimes, John McGiver and George Gobel make this festive fable even more fun.

MY THOUGHTS
I received a copy of Twas The Night Before Christmas. Yes, Twas The Night before Christmas, as in “Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse”. A young mouse who lives with his family beneath the town writes to the newspaper that he doesn’t believe in Santa. Santa reads the published letter and won’t go to that town, sending all of the children’s letters back. The town has a big clock that they will use to welcome Santa back. When Mr Trundle the clockmaker starts the clock it breaks. The rush is on for Mr Trundle to fix the clock, and to find out who sent the letter to Santa as well. This DVD is an oldie but a goodie. I remember watching this when I was a little girl. It’s perfect for those of us that remember watching it as a child, and even better for sharing with our children.
