Thanks to Team Mom, I received two books to review by children’s author Leslie Patricelli.

Baby Happy Baby Sad is a board book. The book is about a baby and things that make him happy and sad. Each page shows the baby in a situation that makes him happy or sad. Holding an ice cream cone makes baby happy, dropping it makes him sad. Holding a balloon makes baby happy, having the balloon float away makes baby sad. Having another child take a toy makes baby sad, sharing makes baby happy. The pages are thick and sturdy. They may even be able to be wiped off but I’m not sure. The pictures are brightly colored and simple enough to draw in a young child’s attention.

Higher! Higher! is the author’s tenth and newest title. The book is about a young girl whose father is pushing her on a swing, daydreaming about how high she can swing. Swinging higher and higher, she imagines herself swinging higher than buildings, swinging higher than planes and eventually swinging so high she meets a space creature. The book contains simple, colorful illustrations and is made up of regular pages (not a board book).
Both books are available for purchase in many local bookstores nationwide and from online retailers such as Amazon.
