Do you ever have to tell your family that certain foods in the house are off limits? Thanks to MyBlogSpark I got a coupon to try a new Yoplait yogurt flavor this week. I picked it up at the store and wanted to be sure that the rest of the family didn’t eat it before I had a chance to try it. After I tried it I knew I never would have gotten any if they’d gotten to it first, because it’s that good.

The yogurt I got to try is Yoplait Yo-Plus Blueberry Acai. Let me start by sharing what I learned about Yo-Plus and Acai, as I’d never had either before. Yo-Plus yogurts are a good source of fiber, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin D. What makes Yo-Plus yogurts different is that they contain a probiotic culture called Bifidobacterium, which is proven to help regulate your digestive health year-round. Acai is a berry that is produced by the Acai palm tree native to Central and South America. It’s pronounced ah-sah-EE, not ak-eye as I thought. From my reading I learned that Acai is full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids.
I’d never tried any of the Yoplait Yo-Plus yogurts before. The container is shorter and wider than regular yogurt containers, and I thought it stacked more easily in the frig and was easier to get the yogurt out of. The Blueberry Acai flavor is very creamy but isn’t a custard style. One 4 ounce container is one serving and has 110 calories. I found the taste to be sweet (but not too sweet) and more like mixed berries than blueberries. I really enjoyed the flavor quite a bit because it had such a great combination of flavor and texture.
Yo-Plus is now offering a $1.50 off downloadable coupon for a 4-pack of yogurt at http://bricks.coupons.com/bstart.asp?o=55277&ci=1&c=GM&p=vZpuCdX5. You can also grab a $1.00 off coupon at http://www.yo-plus.com.
Yoplait Yo-Plus Yogurt is available in the following flavors – strawberry, cranberry raspberry, blackberry pomegranate, blueberry acai, vanilla, cherry and peach.

  5. It’s not easy, because we all love sweets, but my best tip is to use the shopping cart as your first line of defense. Don’t fill it with junk, and you won’t bring home treats and junk food.

  11. I bring snacks and water with me when I leave the house. When I feel the need to eat or drink something, I don’t have to stop at the nearest fast food place…instead I eat my healthy snack!
