I love things that smell good. Bath & Body Works has some awesome smelling products, I LOVE their hand sanitizers and am never without one. Another thing that I love to be yummy smelling is candles. Bath & Body Works recently had a contest where the entrants cooked dishes that, if selected as the winner, would be turned into a candle.
The three finalists were chosen at a live event in New York City by Harry Slatkin (Creator of Slatkin & Co.), Erica Tucker (owner of Sweet E’s Mini Bakeshop in Los Angeles), and Givaudan Fragrance Expert Jeanine Guerrero. The three finalists are:
- Tim Ong of Houston, Texas with Strawberry Pistachio Delight
- Mary Shivers of Ada, Oklahoma with Tropical Tangerine Cake
- Naylet La Rochelle of Miami, Florida with Maple Sticky Toffee Pudding
Now those three folks are in a second competition in which the winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join Harry Slatkin in New York City to watch as his or her dessert turned into a gourmand candle. This time the winner will be chosen by you and I, through votes cast on the website. To vote all you need to do is log on to MyCandleRecipe.com, check out the exclusive cooking event footage and then vote for your favorite contestant. FIVE lucky voters will also win a year’s supply of Slatkin & Co. candles! Voting begins Wednesday, August 3rd and closes at Midnight on Tuesday, August 9th. I voted for the one I thought sounded like it would smell the yummiest. I’d totally love to win a year’s supply of candles, wouldn’t you?! If you’d like a chance to be one of the five winners be sure to vote while there’s still time.

Love candles for the way they light up a dark room and more–especially the way they work against odors from pets, hubby’s cigarettes, and garbage.
I voted for my favorite. It would be nice if I would be one of the people to get a year’s supply of candles. Thanks for letting us know about this one, Val.
